BALLYMENA based, community website Cruiz.com has brought together local business and charities to help safeguard the future of Northern Ireland.
Marbeth Hughes, manager of fashion retailer, Instyle Ballymena, met with Joan Parkinson of Samaritans for the first time to join together to help combat Northern Ireland’s biggest tragedy of having the highest rate of suicide anywhere in the UK.
They stand together to promote Cruiz.com’s Who CARES? Ballymena listings of services on offer to people locally. The website is appealing for all similar organisations to get in touch and ensure they too are receiving free promotion of their services.
Instyle donated £50 to Samaritans, Ballymena branch and in return is receiving FREE
promotion of the store’s website at Cruiz.com -
Delighted with the funds received, Joan explained how the money will be used to
help safeguard the future of Northern Ireland -
“A new mobile unit is currently in the design stage, but is expected to be providing services to schools throughout the Ballymena area in September 2007. Funding for the unit was received mainly from Health and Social Services, but the costs of fitting it out inside is down to ourselves and every donation is gratefully appreciated to provide publicity materials which will include a 42” plasma screen to help promote the variety of services we offer.”
Services currently offered by Samaritans include 24hr helpline 08457 90 90 90; Postal
service -
The Cruiz.com website has attracted over 1 million hits since its launch in 2004, thanks to Jane Lamont, Ballymena Show Secretary and a number of other event organisers, who are expected to be given due appreciation in the coming weeks. The website now promotes mainstream online advertisers from Amazon.com and Expedia.co.uk to Tesco and Harrods, London.
Marbeth uses her website to explain how she keeps up to date with the latest trends in fashion and also to express her thanks to both staff and customers.
